Randall Wright Patterson is Senior Managing Director of Lake Pointe Partners, LLC, a nationally recognized consulting firm exclusively dedicated to providing profit enhancement, corporate renewal and turnaround consulting services to underperforming businesses.
Mr. Patterson has over 25 years of experience working with underperforming and financially distressed businesses in both consulting and interim management roles. He has had broad experience with hundreds of clients in numerous industries including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, transportation, healthcare, service and construction companies in a broad range of life-cycles from start-ups to mature business enterprises. He also serves as a board member to other companies and organizations. Randy is also a frequent lecturer nationally on topics of turnaround and change management and has appeared in over thirty national newspapers, business magazines and television programs.
Mr. Patterson’s work has been recognized by the public and his peers with numerous nominations for awards including Turnaround of the Year by the Turnaround Management Association, the Turnaround Transaction of the Year by The M&A Advisor and the Blue Chip Enterprise Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He recently received the Turnaround Management’s Association’s prestigious Outstanding Individual Contribution Award for his contributions to the turnaround management industry.
Prior to founding Lake Pointe in 2004, Mr. Patterson was Managing Principal of the Chicago Office of BBK, Ltd. a nationally recognized turnaround consulting firm that acquired Mr. Patterson’s previous turnaround firm that he began in 1990. Mr. Patterson’s previous firm was selected as one of the Top 12 Turnaround Firms in 1998 by Turnarounds & Workouts Magazine. Prior experience includes over 12 years of experience with the international public accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Patterson received his BSIM degree from Purdue University and his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. His credentials include being a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Mr. Patterson is active in the Turnaround Management Association, having served as a longtime member of its International Board of Directors and Past Chapter President. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He is a licensed business broker and a member of the Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries.

Kurt S. Knipp is a Managing Director with Lake Pointe. He has over 25 years of professional experience with specialization in corporate renewal advisory and interim management. He has served most recently as President and CEO of a private equity-owned $50 million revenue specialty plastics
manufacturer.
Mr. Knipp has served as Chief Restructuring Officer for clients in manufacturing, distribution and business services. He also specializes
in restructuring sales and marketing organizations, having served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing of a private equity-owned $300 million revenue petroleum products distributor and a family-owned $400 million revenue wholesale electrical distributor.
Mr. Knipp has extensive international experience in manufacturing, distribution, electronic point-of-sale services and e-commerce industries.
He recently assisted a family-owned $60 million furniture manufacturing client in transitioning U.S. operations to China.
Before joining Lake Pointe, he was a Director at BBK, Ltd., a national turnaround consulting firm, where he assisted such clients as General
Motors, Delphi, DaimlerChrysler and Toyota with their troubled suppliers. As Executive Vice President of National Processing Company, Mr. Knipp led the turnaround of its primary operating unit (merchant credit and debit card processing) and participated with an executive management team to complete a $115 million initial public offering. He has personally assisted with the management of such high-profile customers as Wal-Mart, Target Stores, NatWest, Mobile Oil, Delta Air Lines, Walgreens and Royal Caribbean Cruises.
As Senior Vice President Finance of Nabanco (acquired by First Data Corporation), Mr. Knipp’s responsibilities included accounting, finance
and cash management functions. At Wachovia Bank, he was Senior Vice President, Credit Manager of an asset-based lending unit. Mr. Knipp began his career at Continental Illinois Bank with assignments in systems development and corporate banking.
Mr. Knipp received his BS degree with a double major in Computer Science and Finance from Northern Illinois University and completed graduate work
in Computer Science. Mr. Knipp is a Certified Turnaround Professional(CTP) and holds memberships in the Turnaround Management Association and Association for Corporate Growth.
Daniel J. Huwel

Daniel J. Huwel is a Managing Director with Lake Pointe. A former Tatum Partner and 30-year veteran of senior management and operational turnarounds, he has led complex corporate renewal and performance improvement initiatives for middle market companies in various industries.
Prior to joining Lake Pointe , Mr. Huwel led the transition of Precious Moments, Inc. from a small art licensing company to become a $60 million, 120-employee collectible gifts enterprise. As Chief Operating and Chief Financial Officer, he established warehouse and distribution channels, diversified a China supply chain and reversed seven years of double-digit sales declines.
As Chief Financial Officer of Aero Products International, Mr. Huwel grew an “As Seen On TV” direct-sale consumer products business into a $100+ million big-box retailer distributor. Assisting a private equity purchase of an inflatable mattress manufacturer, Mr. Huwel led due diligence and transitional planning, established stand-alone accounting operations and launched an e-commerce sales initiative. The investment was later sold for $231.5 million, representing a 6.3X multiple on the original investment.
Mr. Huwel previously served as Chief Financial and Chief Operating Officer in the turnaround of a $200 million Miami based cruise line. The successful turnaround plan included redeployment of ships, renegotiation of key vendor contracts, reduction of personnel, refinement of marketing strategy and eventual debt restructuring. As Vice President of Corporate Development for Brambles U.S.A., a $350 million industrial services company, Mr. Huwel managed mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. As interim CFO, he led the turnaround and return to profitability of a Bramble’s subsidiary, Atlantic Waste Disposal, Inc, including an operational and financial restructuring.
Prior experience includes 17 years with the international public accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Huwel is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Sciences Degree from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Jeff Day is a seasoned international executive who has led operations in the Automotive, Manufacturing, Materials and Energy industries for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms.
Prior to joining Lake Pointe, Mr. Day managed an international private consulting firm he founded, engaging middle-market companies in Asia-focused market entry, business development, joint venture and wholly-owned foreign enterprise programs. Additionally, Mr. Day’s firm helped companies develop lower cost sources for a wide variety of components and systems. He has served in interim and full-time President and CEO capacities for multiple companies, including a developer of a revolutionary motor/generator technology. While there, he was successful in introducing the company’s hybrid vehicle propulsion and turbine-driven generator technologies to companies including Toyota and Rolls Royce. He also served as President of an innovative, low-cost oil extraction process development firm.
Previously, as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for magnetic materials producer, Magnequench, Inc, Mr. Day’s efforts resulted in over 35% year-over-year company growth and included the launch of a highly successful Japan-based business
Mr. Day spent over seven years as a Director of International Operations for Delphi Automotive Systems, managing operations in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Japan, South Korea and China, and greenfielding efforts in India. As a Division Marketing Manager for the Delco Remy division of General Motors, he was actively involved in electric vehicle programs.
Mr. Day’s international experience spans over 20 years and includes marketing and development for companies including General Electric and Toshiba. He has held residence in Japan and Singapore, and spends much of his time between the U.S. and his office in Shanghai. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with honors and received a Masters Degree and Joseph Schaffner Fellowship from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Roger Tauchman is a Director with Lake Pointe Partners, LLC and a 24-year veteran of the commercial financial services industry. He brings a broad array of troubled debt restructuring, business forecasting, and workout execution skills to the firm.
Prior to joining Lake Pointe Partners, Mr. Tauchman was Senior Vice
President with GE Capital, where he held various leadership positions
in his 8 years there. He managed a $2 billion new-business budget as
a regional sales team leader, directed regional auto industry lending
efforts, and led teams to underwrite, close, and manage numerous
lending arrangements. He also managed and executed strategies
on troubled debt situations, including winding down a $200 million
integrated steel operation in a multi-bank transaction.
Prior to joining GE Capital, Mr. Tauchman was Senior Vice President
with Bank of America, where he led a team of lenders to co-manage a
$1.1 billion loan portfolio within the commercial bank and initiated a
national retail lending platform in the business credit unit.
Mr. Tauchman began his lending career with 9 years at Heller
Financial in Denver, Los Angeles and Chicago, where he negotiated
debt restructurings in numerous industries, including media and
telecommunications, as part of Heller’s workout team. He also
managed complex portfolio transactions — including valuing and
monetizing a $10 million warrant position — as part of a private equity
sponsor lending team, and managed special bankruptcy and winddown
projects as part of the field examinations staff.
Mr. Tauchman received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting
from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Business Administration
degree from Pepperdine University. He is a CPA and member of the
American Institute of CPAs, the Commercial Finance Association, the
Association for Corporate Growth, and the Turnaround Management
Association.
Haiyang Chen

Haiyang Chen is a Director with Lake Pointe Partners in its Shanghai office. He is a Chinese national and 35-year veteran of manufacturing operations, serving multi-national companies, managing joint ventures (JV) and wholly-owned foreign enterprises (WOFE).
Prior to joining Lake Pointe, Mr. Chen managed China-based efforts for a consulting firm that offered Asian market entry strategy, JV and WOFE set-up, and worked extensively in China
to source lower cost, high quality components for export to North America, Japan and Europe.
Previously, while General Manager of a 50/50 Sino-Australian JV, Shanghai Air International Co., Ltd., Mr. Chen’s growth strategies elevated the climate control products producer to a Tier 1 supplier to companies including General Motors. He helped to establish a critical HVAC US export market, greatly reduced costs of sourced components and led a highly successful market entry into heat exchanger manufacturing.
As President of high-tech materials producer, Magnequench Co. in Tianjin, China, Mr. Chen managed the transfer of US manufacturing processes to China-based operations, overseeing plant construction and equipment installation. Later, he successfully implemented lean manufacturing systems, QC measures and sales and marketing strategies.
Earlier, as a Deputy General Manager at Shanghai Delphi Automotive
Systems Company, Mr. Chen led improvements to international sales, marketing and purchasing efforts, and customer service to companies including VW, GM and Suzuki. In a similar role with Sichuan-based Chengdu Automobile
Factory, he managed an operation of 2100 employees, improved manufacturing facilities and established a JV with British-owned Rover Group.
Haiyang is fluent in both Mandarin and English. He holds a B.S. Degree in Automotive Design, Test and Manufacture from Hunan University in China and has attended programs at the Chengdu University of Science & Technology and General Motors Engineering & Management Institute.
Shannon Li

Shannon Li is a Director with Lake Pointe Partners in its
Shanghai Office.
Ms. Li has extensive Human Resources Management experience with multi-national companies, working with US holding companies, wholly-owned foreign enterprises (WOFE) and joint ventures (JV). She brings to Lake Pointe an expertise in Chinese labor law and regulations, including Chinese social benefits policy, having completed extensive research on growing foreign interests in China.
Ms. Li possesses a deep and diverse background in international manufacturing and human resources management. Prior to joining Lake Pointe, she coordinated China-based efforts for a US-based international business consulting firm specializing in Asian market entry strategy, JV and WOFE setup and strategic sourcing activities.
From 1998 to 2006, Shannon worked as an HR Manager for 3 Delphi organizations in Shanghai, including Delphi Shanghai Dynamics & Propulsion System Co. Ltd, (WOFE); Shanghai Delphi Emission Control Systems Co., Ltd ( JV); and Delphi China Holding Co. Ltd.. Ms. Li was Responsible for developing HR policy and procedures relative to resource planning, recruiting and retention, training and development, compensation and benefits, expatriate administration, and corporate/government communications.
As a multi-lingual Chinese national, Ms. Li has taught English at two key Chinese universities, including Chengdu University of Science and Technology and Beijing University of Post and Telecommunication. She has received extensive Western training at institutions including Sheffield University (UK) and Michigan State University (US), and holds an M.A. Degree from Reading in the United Kingdom.
